-About-

It is a type of landscape pattern that was used on kosode by ladies of the Kyoto Imperial Palace from the mid to late Edo period. The theme is Noh and stories from the dynasty era, and it is a landscape pattern with a sense of perspective that symbolically arranges elegant materials such as running water and flowers, as well as palaces, oxcarts, and fans.
It is said that in the early Meiji period it came to be called “gosho doki moyo'' because the maids of court nobles and women working in imperial palaces would unravel and use kosodes given to them by their wives.
