Our designs are a collaboration of Bingata, a dyeing technique which is unique to Okinawa, Japan, and Japanese craft. The Bingata design pattern is applied to Arita-ware and Mino-ware porcelain dishes, or natural fabric such as linen. Every Binryu product is gently handmade and brings traditional art to everyday life.

What is Bingata?
A dyeing technique unique to Okinawa, this traditional art representing Okinawan culture uses bright colors from natural dyes. This stylized pattern of Okinawan Passionfruit, is applied to porcelain or to cloth through a stencil pattern or by freehand.

Bingata patterned fabric has been used for traditional formal clothing since the Ryukyu Kingdom era.
