This design is a close-up of the beautiful peony flower that was found in the patterns of wedding attire from the Taisho to Showa eras. The peony is called the "king of flowers" and is also called the "flower of wealth and honor," and is said to have the potential to acquire wealth and status. The round chrysanthemum represents harmony, and the character for manju (longevity) was chosen because it resembles the shape of a manju (a steamed bun).
